Vicky Hayward is a freelance writer, features journalist and book editor whose articles and essays about the arts, food, travel and social issues are published internationally.
A Cambridge history graduate, she lived and worked in Vanuatu and London before moving to Madrid in 1990. Her book, New Art of Cookery: A Spanish Friar's Kitchen Notebook (Rowman & Littlefield), won the Jane Grigson Trust Award 2017 and was published in Spain, entitled Nuevo arte de la cocina española (Editorial Ariel), in October 2017. The Spanish edition was awarded the 2017 Premio Nacional de Gastronomía for Best Publication by the Royal Academy of Gastronomy, and the 2017 Premio por el Mejor Labor Gastronómica en el ámbito de la investigación by the Aragonese Academy of Gastronomy.
